Update July 12, 2019!

U. S. Representative William Lacy Clay has introduced legislation that could free Alex Garcia!  The bill could change his immigration status to permanent legal resident of the United States and would rescind all orders of removal.

Dear UCC Family,

Christ Church UCC in Maplewood is privileged to be offering sanctuary to Alex Garcia. Alex is, quite possibly, the kindest, hardest-working individual I have ever met. To watch him playing with his five children will warm your heart, and then crush it when you remember that Alex can no longer live with them at home, for fear that ICE agents will come to arrest and deport him. Escaping violence in Honduras 13 years ago, Alex came into the U.S. without the approved papers. He built a life, with a wife and children and community and job in Poplar Bluff, MO. Although he had previously been given permission to stay, that changed in 2017.

You can help us support Alex and his family, and work to overturn his order of removal. Below is a list of ways you can help. Thank you for doing what you can.
