2019 EVENTS

In Search of Dehumidifiers and Box Fans - Epiphany UCC, ​2911 McNair Ave.St. Louis MO 63118. Our basement, which is currently being used for JNM and a free clinic, gets damp in the summer and chilly in the winter. The radiators in the basement are located near the ceilings in each respective room. Box fans would be perfect to force the heated air down to the floor. November 24, 2019 - Holiday Traditions of Other Faiths - Kirkwood UCC, 1603 Dougherty Ferry Road, Kirkwood MO 63122. During Advent, when we Christians focus on our holiday observances & traditions, one can wonder how other religions in the world observe their holy days and/or holidays. Kirkwood UCC Adult Education will welcome representatives from various faiths to share general information, answer questions, and describe how their specific holy days are observed. Please join us in this interfaith experience as we get to know our brothers and sisters of different religions. All speakers are provided to us from Interfaith Partnership of St. Louis, and will include: November 24: Baha'i Faith (Speaker: David Landesman); December 1: Congregation B'nai Amoona, a Conservative Jewish community in West County; December 8: Hinduism Temple and The Living Insights Center in Clayton (Speaker: Jack Sisk.). Part-time NurseDeaconess Nurse Ministry has a position open for a part-time nurse to work with UCC clergy and their families in health and wellness support. The nurse will work in geographic region of the IL South Conference and Missouri Mid South Conference (St Louis and Eastern Association) to provide case management support. Please contact Rev. Music Director - Under the direction of the Pastor, the Director of Music is responsible for organizing, directing and implementing a worship and music program and for planning music for church services. This individual will be responsible for directing the choir including weekly rehearsals, providing piano accompaniment for all worship services and leading musical participation in worship by the congregation. This role will require an average of 10-12 hours per week, depending on the church season. Qualifications include ability to play the piano; experience as a vocal coach/choral director preferred; leadership that inspires and encourages musicians of all skill-levels. Director of Non-Traditional Worship Service Music - St. Paul United Church of Christ - 115 West B Street, Belleville, Illinois 62220. Reports to Director of Music Ministry and Senior Pastor. Responsibilities and duties: plan, in consultation with the Pastor, and lead the music for weekly non-traditional worship; recruit and direct the worship band and other musicians, including weekly rehearsals; plan and lead the music for special services, celebrations, concerts; contribute creative ideas to musically engage our congregation and community; maintain the band instruments and non-traditional music library; coordinate with the office staff, to create worship materials such as PowerPoint; attend appropriate meetings such as staff meetings; report to Worship Board and Church council as needed; participate occasionally in the traditional worship service. Qualifications: bachelor’s degree with professional music training and experience; excellent keyboard skills, including the ability to direct from the keyboard; proficiency in any additional instrument would be a plus; leadership that inspires and encourages musicians of all skill-levels; works well in a team environment; spiritual calling that elevates worship. Compensation: part-time position, 12 hours/week. Hours include time for preparation, practicing and playing. Hours would be greater with additional roles. Salary minimum of $12,000., depending on experience and additional roles. Church Organist & Keyboard Specialist - St. Paul United Church of Christ - 115 West B Street, Belleville, Illinois 62220. Reports to Director of Music Ministry and Senior Pastor. Responsibilities and Duties: Play piano and organ accompaniments for Wednesday Chancel Choir rehearsals and Sunday traditional worship services. Play the organ preludes and postludes at the traditional Sunday worship services. Play the organ music for certain special services (Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Holy Week). Make certain that the Sanctuary Schantz Pipe Organ and Steinway Grand Piano are maintained in excellent working condition. Attend appropriate meetings such as staff meetings. Report to Worship Board and Church council as needed. Participate occasionally in non-traditional worship service. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with professional music training and experience. Excellent keyboard skills, high proficiency in organ. Musicianship that inspires and encourages musicians of all skill-levels. Works well in a team environment. Spiritual calling that elevates worship. Compensation: Part-time position, minimum of 12 hours/week. Hours include time for preparation, practicing and playing. Hours would be greater with additional roles. Salary minimum of $12,000., depending on experience and additional roles. Director of Children and Youth Ministry - St. John United Church of Christ, St. Charles, MO is looking for an innovator who recognizes that children and youth ministry is changing, and who brings new ideas of how to reach children and their families with the gospel. This person will lead the Children and Youth Ministry programs at St John United Church of Christ, working with other staff and volunteers to build a program that builds Christian discipleship and faith development in our young people from birth to adulthood in the areas of Christian education, small group ministry, worship, camps, mission, fellowship, and inter-generation connections with the congregation and with the wider church. We are looking for someone with a heart for bringing new children, youth and families into the church.  See attached job description for additional information and application guidelines.

Volunteer Musician needed - alternating Saturdays 12:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. - Every Child's Hope (formerly Evangelical Children's Home), 211 N. Market Street, Waterloo IL 62298.  Provide music for chapel services for the residents of Every Child's Hope.  Two Chapel services at 1 and 2 pm every other Saturday beginning on March 30. Possibility of 12:30 Choir practice - negotiable. Must be able to pass DCFS background check.
